Why Showing Your Face During Your Livestreams Is More Engaging To Your Audience

There are many streamers out there who do not show their face, and while there are some diamonds in the rough who manage to make it successfully without ever showing their faces to their audience, I can assure you that it's not as easy as you think.

Allow me to explain.

I was quite hesitant at first when I started my journey down the creative entrepreneur path. For years I struggled with the fear of showing my face and putting myself out there.

But after years of procrastinating and fighting with my inner self, I finally made the decision in December 2019 to make the jump into the unknown.

I started off by making my first video a Welcome To My Channel Video. This way, I can face my fears head-on like a true Warriorene.

I later experimented with different types of video styles such as voiceovers and storytelling without my showing my face. What I learned is it is indeed doable to succeed with no face videos, and I personally do have the skills and personality for it, but therein lies the problem.

You need to have the skills and personality to do no-face videos.

You have to work hard at keeping your viewers' attention and engagement. This requires editing tricks like jump cuts, b-rolls, sound effects, and so on (skills).

As far as personality goes, this depends on you and how comfortable and confident you are with yourself.

This one is a bit tricky because you can't expect someone who isn't bubbly or animated to be just that. The last thing you want to do is force yourself to be and/or behave in a way that is not natural to who you are.

That's why I said this one is tricky. You're going to have to work on this one my friend.

The best advice I can offer you is to be yourself and focus on your strengths.

When it comes to showing your face understand that you don't have to portray this superficial ideology that makes you feel like you have to change your appearance.

Here's an example; I have really bad acne so I have scars on my face to prove it, however, I don't let that get in my way because acne is a part of who I am. By acknowledging this fact my confidence is strong and my mentality is one of Fuck It, Is What It Is.

The best part about showing your face is that your audience will love you for it. We're visual beings so we enjoy seeing other people's different facial features and reactions.

Be comfortable in your skin and confident in who you are and I can assure you that you will do just fine.

Get out there and grab the world by the nuts.💪🏽
